“Founded in 2006, during a time when funding for youth work in the county was either being withdrawn or reduced, a group of like -minded people met to explore how they can support young people in the county. Our name – “does what is says on the tin” – stands of the heart of what we are for…. We are for LINCOLNSHIRE, we are for YOUTH and we are for the MISSION of sharing God’s love in Jesus Christ.
It became clear very early on, that there were opportunities to support young people. A conversation started with churches in the north of the county and this developed to see the pioneering start of the X-Factor Project in 2007. A Youth Missioner was assigned to support local churches working across different communities in and around the city and surrounding villages of Lincoln.
During this period, we started talking to a collection of churches in the south of the county. We listened to the growing concern about young people in very isolated circumstances in and around the Boston area. These discussions resulted in the launch the roadHoG Bus Youth Project, assigning a Youth Missioner to work with local churches build, launch and develop a double decker bus supporting young people in areas where there was little provision for them.
